Resource Data Management (RDM) are delighted to be exhibiting at this year’s Smart Buildings Show. Our discussions and solutions on display will focus on helping businesses reduce their embodied carbon.

Central to reducing embodied carbon are our HVAC control and monitoring solutions based on open protocols. Open protocol solutions help increase control system longevity, reducing the need for premature equipment replacements which lowers operational costs and embodied carbon.

Control and monitoring system front-end DMTouch

DMTouch, our control and monitoring system front-end, is based on open protocols. Due to this, it can easily be integrated into an existing third-party control system where it can manage third-party HVAC controllers and sensors. DMTouch can communicate with existing HVAC controllers and can serve as a translator between third-party units that are not communicating with each other.

When individual components within an HVAC system fail, third-party solutions might require the wider structure around the failing equipment to be replaced as well, which increases the embodied carbon footprint. RDM offers a different solution. Due to DMTouch’s open communication capabilities, individual units within the HVAC system can be replaced on a case-by-case basis. This approach saves resources and reduces waste, thereby decreasing embodied carbon.

Remote Monitoring Software ActiveFM™

RDM’s remote monitoring software ActiveFM helps businesses reduce their embodied carbon by increasing HVAC system longevity. It provides businesses the data needed to carry out predictive maintenance which keeps systems running efficiently and increases equipment lifespan.
In addition, it offers energy management options which help reduce operational carbon emissions and keep costs to a minimum.
