On 16-17 October 2019, the 10th annual ATMOsphere Europe event was held in Warsaw with this year’s focus on ‘Business Case for Natural Refrigerants’. The European edition of the worldwide refrigeration industry event organised by Shecco hosted a range of keynote presentations, workshops and networking opportunities.

RDM’s Group Chief Sales & Marketing Director, Enrico Mirandola, joined the panel discussion “Industry 4.0” which focused on the natural refrigerant controls industry and the integration of smart systems using the IoT. Some of the topics covered during this session included the optimisation of applications with smart systems in the HVACR sector and the effect this is having on data collection, analysis and monitoring. The industry experts also elaborated on ways the IoT is shaking up traditional technologies and how the growing need for more ambitious energy efficiency is driving the sector.

“In my opinion, the most significant challenge of any individual and organisation responsible for the management of HVAC&R equipment is harnessing big data, and information that provides insight into the actions that must be taken to operate and protect assets efficiently” – Enrico Mirandola, CSMO, RDM

Installing a Transcritical CO2 System

RDM USA’s partner South-Town recently installed a transcritical CO2 system for a US grocer. The solution using a natural refrigerant has proven to be more energy efficient than a R407A system and consistently performs, even in warm conditions. More information on which solutions were used in the project and how they were installed can be found in this case study.
