Resource Data Management’s (RDM’s) HVAC building control solutions helped Bulmershe School reduce their energy consumption by 49%. Prior to the upgrade, Bulmershe School had one of the highest energy consumption among the public buildings in Wokingham Borrow Council.
The school’s LTHW boilers were poorly managed by the existing building control systems with some plant areas running 24 hours a day. Energy management and building services company ETS – appointed to reduce the school’s energy use – chose RDM’s control solutions to establish optimal control of the HVAC system. The existing controls were replaced with RDM’s HVAC control solutions. These utilise improved optimum start/stop algorithms, demand-based temperature control, and vastly improved zone control.
Choosing a demand-based solution allowed ETS to fully modulate and optimised all boiler plants using different methods as required. Boilers were recommissioned and fitted with modulation adaptors to allow the new RDM control system to enhance deltaT control across the system for improved control of boiler flow temperatures.
These improvements helped Bulmershe School achieve 49% energy savings, improve occupant comfort, and help the council work towards net zero goals.

Streamlined HVAC Control Systems Reduces Energy Use for Car Dealerships
The overarching control strategy ensures that individual HVAC systems work with rather than against each other, comfort levels correspond to environmental conditions, and energy use is reduced.

Donated PC Monitors Given New Life at Charity
As part of our ongoing mission to reuse and recycle materials wherever possible, we recently donated unused PC monitors to a local charity.
