We recently reported on applying the principles of Reduce, Reuse, Recycle. As part of that, we donated unused PC monitors so that they can be reused instead of sending them to landfills. A local cancer charity found new use for them by helping their staff set up their work stations.
Susan Morris, Stakeholder Engagement Manager at Ayrshire Cancer Support, commented:
“Ayrshire Cancer Support were delighted to receive support from Resource Data Management after being connected via the “A Good Thing” portal - a website that looks to match unwanted office items with charities who might benefit from them. As an organisation that receives no statutory funding, the donation of six monitors is a great saving for us and means we can divert more of our fundraised income to the delivery of services. The monitors were gratefully received and have been put to use by members of the Therapeutic Support Team who report that being able to link their laptops to monitors has created more comfortable workstations.”
