Job Overview

We are seeking an Operational Management professional to join our team in Minnesota. This is a very hands-on role, as the business is in a growth phase in the US region. The ideal candidate will focus on providing comprehensive operational support across multiple functions, including engineering support, production support, supplier coordination, and managing employee capacity as the business expands.

This individual will work closely with our UK head office and Taiwan production facility to ensure seamless operations and identify key areas for growth within the operations team. The role will also involve receiving and documenting customer returns, ensuring that any issues are resolved promptly. The ideal candidate will have a solid understanding of business transformation initiatives, lean principles, and operational efficiency, along with advanced leadership and communication skills.

Due to the geography of some of our targeted customers, Spanish language skills would be beneficial for this role.

Key Responsibilities
  • Provide engineering support to ensure the successful production and delivery of HVAC and retail refrigeration systems.
  • Work with suppliers to ensure that materials and components meet required specifications and are delivered on time.
  • Manage production support activities, manage serial number creation for newly made devices, collaborating with our Taiwan production facility to resolve any issues and maintain production flow.
  • Oversee the process for receiving and documenting customer returns, working closely with engineering and customer support teams to resolve issues.
  • Liaise with the UK head office and Taiwan production teams to ensure smooth communication and operational alignment across regions.
  • Lead initiatives focused on continuous improvement and operational efficiency, utilizing business transformation and lean principles.
  • Actively manage employee capacity as the business grows, identifying key areas for hiring within the operations team to support the growing demands of the US region.
  • Monitor and report on key operational metrics to senior management, identifying areas for improvement and implementing solutions.
  • Collaborate with the Group IT Manager to implement and maintain IT asset tracking, policies, data backup/recovery plans and software licencing.
  • Ensure there is always a buffer between production and sales, smoothing out the flow of goods and ensuring that products are available when customers order them, by carefully managing the inventory levels, investing in an appropriate system if necessary.

Qualifications
  • Bachelor's degree in Engineering, Operations Management, or related field (or equivalent work experience). Relevant experience in a similar role can replace educational requirements.
  • 5+ years of experience in operations support, engineering, or production management, ideally within a technical or manufacturing environment.
  • General computer science/networking knowledge and communication skills
  • Strong understanding of business transformation and lean principles, with a track record of leading process improvements.
  • Advanced leadership skills, with the ability to lead teams and drive operational excellence.
  • Excellent communication and collaboration skills, with the ability to work effectively across international teams and time zones.
  • Experience working with suppliers, managing production schedules, and ensuring quality standards are met.
  • Strong problem-solving skills with a proactive approach to identifying and resolving operational issues.
  • Hands-on experience in managing growing teams and scaling operations to meet business demands.
  • Spanish language skills are beneficial due to the geography of some targeted customers.
  • Experience with HVAC, refrigeration, or related technical industries is a plus.
