Resource Data Management (RDM), the pioneering Glasgow-based energy control and monitoring company, has acquired leading software developer Resorsys.
The company has an international client base, including major customers in the UK and US, and operates from facilities in India.
Andy Chandler, RDM managing director, said: “We are delighted with the acquisition of Resorsys. We have worked with them for many years, and they have contributed significantly to the development of RDM products.”
He added: “We have always been impressed by their creativity, expertise and professionalism. The deal secures a high quality, cost-effective software development capability in addition to our own excellent in-house team. The acquisition will enable us to accelerate and expand our product range for the future – to deliver even greater control and cost savings for customers.”
In addition to producing software solutions for clients, Resorsys has developed its own cutting edge energy management system, EMS. The web-based platform provides remote and onsite energy management, and enables users to monitor, track and analyse trends in energy consumption in plant and buildings.
RDM will use Resorsys, accredited to ISO 9000:2000, to enhance its own software programme, while continuing to offer a bespoke service for third party clients in markets across the world.
The acquisition of Resorsys follows the purchase by RDM last year of Taiwanese component and electronics manufacturer FYC Co Ltd. It is part of continuing expansion plans for the business aimed at securing high quality in house manufacturing and software development to expand the reach for its pioneering technology.
RDM began as a provider of specialist refrigeration controls, based on its own ActiveFM platform. It is now building around this core business with a full range of hvacr, energy and building controls and monitoring solutions, as part of a “total solution” approach to buildings.
It offers a round-the-clock bureau plant and building monitoring service from its headquarters in Glasgow.
