RDM appoints Ken Groves to target NHS and healthcare sector

Pioneering building control and monitoring specialist RDM has appointed Ken Groves as Business Development Manager to spearhead a new push into the NHS and healthcare sector.

The Glasgow-based company manufactures leading edge products that enable users to control and monitor heating, refrigeration and air conditioning plant and buildings, saving energy, reducing water usage and improving clinical hygiene.

RDM products are suitable for inclusion in systems and working practices that fully comply with the requirements of 21 CFR, Part 11.

Ken Groves has twenty-two years experience in cable and satellite communications, serving as European Sales Manager for Universal Remote Control, where he developed and launched a successful international sales and distribution network.

He holds a Higher National Certificate in Electrical and Electronic Engineering and a BA in Business Studies from Manchester Metropolitan University.

He said: “With energy costs rising rapdily, there are huge opportunities for hospitals and healthcare facilities to reduce energy waste.

“Refrigeration and air conditioning equipment is crucial to their operation – for operating theatres, blood banks, storage of samples and medicines - but a lot of plant is very inefficient and poorly controlled.”

He added: “RDM’s state-of-the-art systems enable managers and facilities staff to see immediately where there are problems, and take the correct steps to improve performance. With electricty and gas costs escalating, it is vital that these essential but energy-hungry systems are managed effectively.”
