RDM’s new drop-in offers Tuscan users latest generation control technology for low cost
Leading hvacr controls company Resource Data Management (RDM) has developed an advanced drop-in replacement for the aging Tuscan refrigeration controller, enabling users to quickly and cost-effectively upgrade existing installations to the latest technology.
“There are thousands of old Honeywell Elm Tuscan systems still at work across the UK,” say RDM’s Steve Nicoll. “They were a great leap forward in their day, however they are now showing their age and many are coming up for repair or possible renewal.”
He adds: “We have designed the new state-of-the-art Mercury T board as a direct replacement, with the same footprint and pin configuration as the original. It can be just dropped in – giving installations a new lease of life and users access to today’s most advanced functions. It leaves the original in the shade, for very little outlay.”
The launch of the Mercury T is designed to give the best of both worlds, allowing users to retain existing systems while updating to the latest technology.
The Mercury T has the same mounting points and connection details as the old board, and comes with a five year warranty. It runs on a 485 Genus compatible communications protocol, with auto log on and the facility to upgrade for use over the internet.
It makes use of the Tuscan’s existing din display, cable, connectors and housing. A full suite of software is included with every board, covering HT or LT, integral or remote, display case or cold room.
The upgrade does not require a change in chipset.
