Pioneering British hvacr controls and monitoring company Resource Data Management (RDM) will use ChillVenta as the European launch pad for a range of innovative new products.
Resource Data Management, the Glasgow-based controls pioneer, presented a top award at the recent
Building Controls Industry Awards held at a glittering ceremony at The Hilton Hotel, Coventry.
They include the company’s second generation Data Manager, a new Mercury controller and the pocket-sized temperature data capture device, the Shuttle.
The new Data Manager is a technologically advanced modular control system designed for use in all applications where control of temperatures is required, such as supermarkets, factories, warehouses, shops, hotels, pubs, restaurants and so on.
The modular design enables users to purchase the precise functions needed for their application, making it highly cost-effective. If plant is modified or extended at a later date, additional functions can be added quickly and easily for minimum outlay.
RDM’s Steve Nicoll says: “The ability to run The Data Builder software platform on the Data Manager really makes it stand out.
This is drag and drop programmable logic control software that allows the customer to design their own control system and interface with any aspect of the network.”
The smart, contemporary design of the unit coupled with its functional versatility and ease of use takes onsite control into a new era, according to the company.
Mercury controller versions
RDM’s new Mercury controller comes in two versions, for use with either mechanical or electronic expansion valves. Each can be used to control high or low temperature on cold rooms, or refrigerated display cases.
Complete with vivid blue LED displays, they are easily configured with the use of surface mounted buttons without the need for a separate hand-held device. They can be used as stand-alone controllers on individual plant or networked as part of a store-wide control system.
Devices are networked using a communication module. This is connected to the data port on the Mercury unit, with outlets specified according to the user’s requirements.
The Shuttle is a USB device designed to monitor and record surrounding temperature. It will store up to 16,000 readings at selected variable sample rates, and store them ready for download to a PC.
With a working range of -35°C to +80°C, the Shuttle is suitable for us in many applications throughout the cold chain, from refrigerated transport to
medical products and drug storage
