Mercury MK2 controller

The Mercury controller from RDM is where a good control strategy starts. These units can be used for integral and piped display cases, and coldrooms.

There are also versions for mini packs and larger multi packs. These are highly capable controllers that are feature rich and offer customers real value with superb control strategies and energy saving features. For display cases there is a variant for mechanical expansion valves and a variant for electronic expansion valves. There are also options on some models to have a remote display.

Mercury controller features

  • Plant fault inputs
  • Built in display and set up through the display
  • Robust housing with 5 year warranty
  • Stand alone or network operation
  • 5 Relay outputs
  • Switched mode power supply that operates between 100v and 240v
  • Configurable HACCP alarm
  • IP and 485 Genus networking option
  • Trim heater management
  • Defrosting scheduler
  • Timed lighting control

Mercury controllers can be set up and accessed with a laptop PC. To do this, download the free communicator software from our download section.

Mercury networking options

Mercury controllers are designed to operate stand-alone, but they can also be networked and adding a network gives you even more functionality.

We understand that your Mercury may have to be fitted to an older legacy 485 Genus network and for this purpose we have built a 485 communication module.

The power of RDM control solutions comes through when you use an IP network. With IP there are more choices to be made. For a one off Mercury controller you can add it to a network with an .P Futura Communication module.

If you have a cluster of Mercury controllers you can connect them all to a Mercury switch. This will put upto 10 controllers onto an IP network. Or you could choose a Mercury Switch with pressure and humidity inputs. This switch takes pressure and humidity inputs and enables the Mercury controller to manage trim heaters based on localised humidity or electronic expansion valves based on system pressure.

There is another option: Mesh

You could connect your Mercury controller to a mesh communication module. This is a wireless solution and it works by allowing every mesh unit to listen and talk to every other mesh unit in the network. This continuous node solution means that every controller passes the message on until it gets back to the front end Data Manager, and if one unit goes missing, then all the other units take over.

And because RDM systems are IP based, you also have the option of using standard wireless access points to install your network.
